A fall day...

It's amazing how an ordinary day can turn into something wonderful.  Okay maybe not wonderful-wonderful but unexpected-wonderful. Today started in sleep-deprived panic at 8am.  Charlotte had her 1st doctor appt at 9:15 in Snohomish.  I jumped in the shower, feed Charlotte and got her dressed in about 40 min.  Once I was ready, Tyrone decided that he and Samuel would come too.  We rolled in to the parking lot right on time. Our day was off to a better start once we found out that Charlotte is gaining weight.  This is awesome!  With Samuel weight gain just didn't happen.  He never once meet his weight goal.  He is now currently in the 50% percentile and healthy. I'm just so excited that breastfeeding is working this time.  Charlotte has gained 13oz and grown 3/4 of an inch.  I've also lost 21 pounds of pregnancy weight.  I love a diet that includes eating 500 extra calories and still losing weight. After our appt it ...

Baby Photos

My Dad sent me my baby photo yesterday.  So I thought it would be fun to post side by side comparisons of all 4 of us. It's amazing how much Tyrone and Samuel look alike. Charlotte and I have the same nose and round face. Tyrone  Samuel Suzanne  Charlotte

C is for Cookie

I love cookies!  Chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, peanut butter, and many others.  I also love to bake cookies. A cool fall day is the perfect time to bake cookies.  The oven warms the house and the cookies warm the mouth.  Okay that was kinda corny but we are talking about cookies. Childhood When I was a kid we never bought cookies, we made them.  My dad's favorite was Chocolate Chip and so that's what we made.  I'm not sure when I started helping but I think it was around 6.  We had a routine, we would make a triple batch, then count them to see if it matched the recipes estimate, then freeze most of them for later. It was easy to make so many because my parents had a commercial mixer that could hold up to 10 cups of flour.  They also had a ton of cookies sheets, so we could scoop all the dough and just keep popping in sheets.  After they cooled they would be store in a giant tupperware and put in the deep freeze in the...

Eating, Sleeping and ...

Having a baby at home is a life changer.  It's only been 2 years since we brought Samuel home but I feel like I've forgotten what it's really like. Samuel 2 days old Charlotte 2 days old Size Babies are so tiny.  Charlotte was only 8 oz smaller than Samuel.  However, Samuel was born when it was really hot so he mostly wore a diaper and shirt.  For Charlotte I had to go buy a newborn wardrobe when she was 5 days old.  Maybe it was more of a Girl Thing than a heat thing.... Eating Babies need to eat all the time.  Samuel wasn't really interested in food but Charlotte has made up for that, she eats all the time.  Her peak eating time is anywhere from Midnight to 6am.  Last night it was closer to 6am.  Charlotte does make it up to me by letting me sleep from 6am until noon. Samuel Sleeping Sleeping I am so thankful I got 2 kids who sleep.  I think my mom is still miffed that I didn't get a baby ...

Charlotte Rose

After 9 months of waiting Charlotte Rose is here! Mommy and Daddy heading to the hospital Saturday, September 10, 2011 Mommy started her day at 5am with a shower and no breakfast.  Me-Maw came over to braid my hair and watch Samuel.  We drove to the hospital and realized Charlotte would be here TODAY! After checking in we were given a recovery room and we waited some more.  At 7:30am I was prepped for surgery. Mommy prepped and ready to go At 8am we were off to the operating room.  Charlotte was ready and so was I.  I actually had some contractions while waiting for surgery, so she must have been ready too. At 8:22am I heard the most wonderful sound, Charlotte letting the world know she was here.  She was born with straight, dark hair and beautiful deep, dark blue eyes.  She weighed 7lbs 8oz and was 19 1/4 inches long.  So she was about the same size Samuel was when he was born. Charlotte getting her temperature taken Dadd...
